A Thickening Plot in La Piloto

As the telenovela La Piloto gets deeper into the series, the drama intensifies. Yolanda’s dream is still fixed on becoming a pilot. However, she is increasingly involved in the drug game. John Lucio, the drug lord of the whole operation, is putting Yolanda’s dreams in sight as he offers to teach her how to fly. However, with John’s offer comes with string attached. The reason John is offering Yolanda this opportunity is so that she can fly drugs back and forth for John’s drug operation. This puts Yolanda in a tough situation but she knows she needs to keep her options open. This is where the telenovela further intensifies because time means everything for Yolanda. Why is this? John Lucio has made it clear that if Yolanda were not to participate in his drug business that he will have her dealt with, most likely raped and killed. Because of this reason that Yolanda knows she continues to lead John Lucio in two different ways. We see that Yolanda continues to fly with John and almost kiss him after a flight lesson. She does this even when she knows the consequences of not taking this job and this could possibly be making situations worse. We also see conflict rising between Dave, Yolanda’s flight attendant coworker who we saw a love interest within the first couple of scenes. To make matters worse, Dave is also an undercover agent looking to bust John Lucio. As Dave gets further into the investigation he questions why he keeps finding Yolanda in the middle of it even when he makes her seem innocent to his partners. How does this contribute to the telenovela story? The drama is escalating and problems seem only to be getting worse. We also see a love triangle forming between Yolanda, John, and Dave. Where Dave is the good guy but John has opportunities to give to Yolanda. Given that Dave is an undercover agent and John is a drug lord, there is inevitable troubles to come. So how do we know this is going on? We see the two developing epic love stories in both of the men towards Yolanda. We see that all of the characters are good looking, as how many telenovelas are. Both John and Dave have incredible smiles and undeniable chemistry with Yolanda. Dave having met Yolanda through their job and having an instant attraction gave them hope from the beginning. We have that situation and how John Lucio met Yolanda, where he saved her from another drug business and they seemingly got intertwined by that. These factors contribute to the epic love story under the obstacle size subcategory. After watching this show it is understood that these actors have tremendous amounts of talent because of the way they make the audience feel. Because of these reasons the audience gets further attached to the show and to the characters and what makes telenovelas as addicting as they are. As La Piloto continues the plot thickens and problems seem to be on the rise. This is one of the main components into telenovelas and La Piloto seems to be doing justice to this reputation.
