The Epic Love Story of Teresa and Santiago

It is no doubt that Teresa Mendoza and Santiago Fisterra have an epic love, but there is something about their love that knows how to really capture the heart of the audience. Even people who may not know much about the show at all, they can watch how they interact with one another and see the unmatched amount of love that they share. Together, Teresa and Santiago, make sure that every element of an epic love story is present.  

Undeniably, the protagonists of “La Reina del Sur” definitely check the “physical appearance” box. Kate del Castillo, who plays Teresa, and Iván Sánchez, who plays Santiago Fisterra, are both very attractive people. They exude that natural confidence in themselves, and that only makes them look even better. Iván certainly has that smile that can make any girl swoon, and Kate has surly mastered “the beautiful cry.” I don’t think that I have ever seen either of them and thought that they didn’t look absolutely stunning. Their physical appearance definitely gives aid to their chemistry. Iván and Kate have amazing on-camera chemistry. They really know how to make the audience feel like they are really in love with one another. They had me so convinced that I found myself googling if they were together in real life. There is something about how they always seem to be magnetized to one another that really helps the viewer fall in love with their love story. The fact that they can do this so well shows that they both have indisputable talent as actors. You can feel that passion that they exude through the screen. For example, when they fought about whether or not they should get married, I remember sitting on the edge of my seat hoping that they would because the intensity of the scene really drew me in. To me, their most obvious romantic element is the lengths that they would go to for one another. Teresa would do anything for Santiago and vice versa. They prove this time and time again. Unfortunately, they have to overcome many obstacles in their relationship, from Santiago’s mistrust of Teresa’s love for him to the massive commitment issues. Eventually, they do have to face the biggest obstacle of them all. Sadly, it is one that they can never come back from. These two know how to make the audience feel everything that they feel. When they are happy, I am happy. When they are sad, I am too. Even when they are angry at one another, I find myself picking a side and being angry as well.

When a telenovela can incorporate all of the elements of an epic love story and do it well, they can have millions of people on the edge of their seats always wanting more. People will start to clear out time of their day to make sure that they can watch at the given premier time. This only goes to show the lengths that people will go to when they are completely enthralled by a telenovela.
